In January 2022, at the age of 45, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Grade 2B Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC).
Just a few months earlier, in October 2021, I found a lump in my right breast while putting on my bra. Although there was a history of prostate cancer in my family, there was no history of breast cancer. I never imagined I could receive a breast cancer diagnosis. Through my research, I quickly learned that many women and men are diagnosed with breast cancer without having a family history of the disease.
As I navigated my own healing journey, I felt called to give back to cancer survivors and caregivers by creating a safe space for healing, support, and connection.
That vision became PinkBreastieSista.
PinkBreastieSista is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors and caregivers affected by cancer through self-care therapy and therapeutic wellness events. Inspired by my own experiences with cancer in my life and family, I combined my passion for advocacy with my background in healthcare and community volunteering to create programs that empower survivors and caregivers.
With 14 years of experience in the medical field and three years of survivorship, I have connected patients to essential care after cancer and hosted cancer awareness events in Atlanta, Georgia, and Houston, Texas. My compassion and dedication continue to drive PinkBreastieSista's vision of helping survivors and caregivers find healing and joy after cancer.
After three years of cancer survivorship, another challenge entered my life.
In January 2026, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and an autoimmune disorder called seropositive rheumatoid arthritis. Unlike breast cancer, I do have a strong family history of autoimmune disorders.
But just like cancer, these conditions are part of my journey—not my entire story.
I am a TNBC survivor.
I am a fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis thriver.
I am an advocate.
I am a woman committed to helping others find healing, hope, and community.
And my story is still being written.
